It’s the beginning of a new month, and time to pick a new industry to examine. Since February is a month of love and indulgence, and in honor of Valentine’s Day, this month I’m going to be looking at Confectioners.
First up is Hershey’s, which is not just a company, but a way of life (as anyone who has been to Hershey, PA will attest – the streetlights are in the shape of hershey kisses!)
This will be followed with another American confectionery legend, Tootsie Roll Industries.
Then we go international, and take a look at Swiss giant Nestle. This one will be a bit different, as it’s my first ADR that needs to be analyzed in a different currency. If anyone has any advice on this type of analysis, please let me know!
And finally, we are going to move a bit away from our dividend comfort zone of large cap, blue chip companies, and check out Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, a small US confectioner with a market cap of juts 60 million. Right now, it yields almost 4%!
So check weekly to see my full analysis. I usually post them towards the end of the week, on Thursdays if possible.
