Dividend Growth Stocks

Money in the Trough – June Dividend Stock Purchases – 2018

Here are the dividend stocks I’ve purchased so far this June. While the totals are a fraction of my buys in February, March, April and May of this year, I’m very happy with the average yield.  I’ve pretty much exhausted all the extra cash I had in my 401k account.

So far this month I’ve added a little over $250 in forward dividend income.

As you can see, I went a little AT&T crazy after the ruling.  I think the TWX purchase will be huge boon for AT&T – though getting through the debt that’s pilled up will take some work.

I’ve also shown any full share DRIP buys that were made.  I’ll start doing this every month.   Those are the one or 2 share buys you see in the table below.

You can also see I’ve continued my jaunt around the world this month looking for foreign dividend stocks.  The only new Euro stock I added this month was BASF.  Sadly, they are a yearly payer and my limit order didn’t hit until way after their ex-date.  But, I look forward to next year 😉

I also added a little more SBUX after their disappointing numbers.  I don’t mind that Starbucks is transitioning from a growth to a value stock.  Oh, and that 20% dividend increase was a very welcomed gift.  I finally have 100 shares in one account so I can begin selling covered calls.

New Buys - June 2018

My dividend portfolio has been updated with these buys.

I’ve begun using Intrinio for my portfolio data.  They have a super fast API that works seamlessly with Google sheets.  If you’ve not already checked them out, I suggest you do.  Intrinio has a free trial that might be just what you’re looking for. Honestly, it’s so much better than trying to scrape Yahoo, Google or Morningstar with “importhtml” inside Google sheets for data.

What have you been buying this month?  Have you been picking up any foreign companies in your taxable account?

I'm a dividend growth investor who is aiming to retire early in 4 years at the age of 45. My goal is to live off the income my dividend portfolio and rental property produce exclusively and leave the corporate rat race. I hope you will join me in this journey!

  1. Very nice additions to the portfolio, particularly with that healthy boost to the forward dividend income!

I just purchased SBUX, and had been going back and forth on whether I should make that buy, as it is a new position for me, or load up some more on T or JNJ which I love both of them at these prices.

Thanks DivvyDad! Obviously, I agree with your SBUX decision… even better if you got in after the -10% day. However, you certainly can’t go wrong with either T or JNJ. MMM is having a bit of a sale too.

Thanks Lanny! Yeah, this is turning out to be a big month. Had to dig deep into cash but I just couldn’t resist SBUX and T. Only time will tell how these investments will play out, but I feel pretty good about them 😉

  2. Pig,

That is some intense/insane dividend income added right there. Love the purchases of over $6,000 in stocks and the companies you selected. Man it is great!!

Thanks Bert, I really appreciate it! I might try and sprinkle a little more cash on SBUX, but after that, i’m done for the month. Good to hear from you!
