March is one of those golden months!  Dividend income and dividend growth both hit new highs.  Net worth even halted it’s fall.

March Dividend Income

This month I received $4,344.05 in dividend income!  On average, I was paid $42.59 from 102 different companies!  This month’s dividend income is a fantastic 29.84% increase over March 2021.
That’s $996.02 more dividend income than last March, which is the biggest increase (in dollars) I have ever had.

Here is a chart of my passive dividend income progress over the last 5 years.

The dividend portfolio has been updated.

Here are the dividend stock purchases I’ve made between March 2021 and 2022 that helped fuel this month’s dividend income growth.

March’s dividend income covers all my expenses!  If I earned this every month, I wouldn’t need to work.

March Dividend Growth (Dividend Increases)

Below are the realized dividend increases I received this March.  Dividend growth is an incredibly important metric and one of my favorite to report!  Especially on months like this one!!!

This March I received 30 dividend increases and 16 of those dividend increases were over 10%!!

March’s dividend increase adds $453.97 in annual dividend income! March’s dividend increases are the equivalent of investing an extra $12,979.57 of new money at 3.5% yield!  That is MASSIVE!

Net Worth

Net worth finally halted its downward trend!

Let’s do the numbers…

Cash

Alright, the cash reduction plan has been super successful.  A lot of my extra cash has been put to work in the markets.  Cash may come down a little more, but we are getting close to the end.

Real Estate

For March, our electricity bill dropped to $156 for the month and our gas bill went to $55!  That totals to $211.  March  has been on the cooler side of mild this year.   I suspect next month should be a bit less.

We did do some home improvement activities this month.  We added new bathroom vents to both of our upstairs bathrooms.  These Panasonic fans have been great in that they don’t sound like a jet engine during take-off and humid air is immediately removed from the room!  The install process wasn’t crazy.  Attic access was necessary, but balancing on floor joists is one of my special talents, so it wasn’t a problem.

I’m still debating on what to add to our home value now that our neighbor just sold their home for 50% more than what they paid 2 years ago.  I feel like like adjusting to 500k is reasonable – even if its way below market.  That way it wouldn’t drastically skew our net worth numbers.

Nothing new on the rental.  Rent came in on time, and no service calls.  The new 2 year lease we signed for a 15% increase starts in 2 months.

Wrap-up

March’s dividend income and dividend growth were absolutely incredible.  Dividend income being up almost 1k over March 2021 and dividend growth over 400 bucks is insane!  These are the results of consistent saving and investing. I am ecstatic!

Net worth will continue to move up and down with the market and I don’t expect (hopefully) to see any massive moves one way or the other.

I will continue to save as much as possible and putting as much money to work as I can.  I hope you do too!

Blake

I'm a dividend growth investor who is aiming to retire early in 4 years at the age of 45. My goal is to live off the income my dividend portfolio and rental property produce exclusively and leave the corporate rat race. I hope you will join me in this journey!

  1. Portfolio is looking strong! Great work and keep it up. What are your plans for buying during this dip we are seeing right now?

    • Blake

Thanks Drew. This has been a rough couple months, but dividends are still rolling in and value are only getting better. I’m still buying… just running low on powder. I’m working on a solid action plan regarding potential sales (in zero yield holdings) to raise money to invest for higher yields.
