Money in the Trough – Adding Dividend Income – June 2017 Purchases

I can’t believe we are almost done with the month and i’m just now posting my June purchases. I’m normally much more on the ball. Anyway, even though I haven’t been “present”, I have been putting some money to work. It’s not been the gigantic sums of the last few months, but it all adds up!

You can click on the ticker link in the table below to get current dividend yield information about the companies I’m buying.

As you can see, my limit order hit for KR the day before Amazon changed the future of grocery stores (Funny how huge price drops happen the day before big event eh?). So, the following day (after the 13% drop) I bought more KR. By the way, I think Kroger is going to be just fine.

My dividend portfolio has been updated with these buys.

What about you, are you jumping in or passing on the huge Kroger sale?

Blake

I'm a dividend growth investor who is aiming to retire early in 4 years at the age of 45. My goal is to live off the income my dividend portfolio and rental property produce exclusively and leave the corporate rat race. I hope you will join me in this journey!

  1. Glad to have you as fellow shareholder in disney and visa,i rode the amazon for few months and sold it off.

Hi Desi. Both DIS and V are great! Hopefully, they will continue to focus on raising those dividends for us.

  2. Excellent purchases Pig. I noticed you purchased PFE. I’m looking to possibly including PFE again in my portfolio. It sucks they cut their dividends back in 2009, but they’ve been on a streak since.

Thanks DP. Pfizer is a great company. However, I wouldn’t by until the yield gets a little closer to 4%. Take a look at my PFE dividend yield chart to help with timing.

  3. I’m with you on the purchase of KR. Took positions over 2 days, after the WF announcement. Fundamentally a well run company; decent yield at $22.00

Nice pickup Bob! Kroger is the best run and largest company in the grocery biz. While i’m sure there will be some lessons to learn, I suspect they will be able to compete against Amazon just fine.

      Thank you for dropping in!
