August Dividend Income and Net Worth Report – 2022

August’s dividend income and dividend growth were incredible!  On the other hand, net worth moved with the market.

August Dividend Income

This month I received $2,599.54 in dividend income!  On average, I was paid $47.26 from 55 different companies!  This month’s dividend income is a CRAZY 32.67% increase over August 2021.  That’s $640.13 more dividend income than last August.

Here is a chart of my passive dividend income progress over the last 5 years.

The dividend portfolio has been updated.

Here are the dividend stock purchases I’ve made between August 2021 and 2022 that helped fuel this month’s dividend income growth.

August’s dividend income covers most living expenses for the month.

August Dividend Growth (Dividend Increases)

Below are the realized dividend increases I received this August.  Dividend growth is an extremely important metric and one of my favorite to report!

This August I received 10 dividend increasesFour of the  dividend increases were over 10%!

Dividend Increases - August 2022

August’s dividend increase adds $290.16 in annual dividend income! On top of that, August’s dividend increases are the equivalent of investing an extra $8,290.29 of new money at 3.5% yield (thanks LOW)!  BOOM!

Net Worth

Net worth resumed its descent!

Let’s do the numbers…

Cash

Cash declined this month as I’ve been putting more money in the market.  I’ll keep that up as much as possible.

Real Estate

In August, our electricity bill stayed exactly the same at $218 (weird) for the month and our gas bill remained about the same at $36.  That totals to $254 again.  August wasn’t crazy hot, not sure where the electricity went this month.

Our new rent rate kicked in and we are still way under market.  The good news is rent came in on time, and no service calls.

Wrap-up

August was a surprising month of some huge dividend income and dividend growth.  I am extremely pleased with the outcome.  Hopefully, next month will be even better (I already know it will)! 🙂

I will continue to invest every month, and will work to put extra money to work if the market drops substantially.

I'm a dividend growth investor who is aiming to retire early in 4 years at the age of 45. My goal is to live off the income my dividend portfolio and rental property produce exclusively and leave the corporate rat race. I hope you will join me in this journey!

  1. Great job Blake! Thanks for sharing this, I need to find some good Dividend Payers for the month of August, as it is one of my lowest paying months. This is a good list to follow.
