July Dividend Income and Net Worth Report – 2021

July in Georgia is hot and humid – but some cool dividend income helps make that oppressive heat a little more bearable.  While dividend income is a fraction of last month’s, July still has a lot of wins to report.  Net worth continues to follow it’s trend.

July Dividend Income

This month I received $1,301.23 in dividend income!  On average, I was paid $28.92 from 45 different payments!  This month’s dividend income is an alright 16.09% increase over July 2020.
That’s $180.35 more dividend income than last July!  Not a huge increase, but it’s not bad!

Dividend Income - July 2021

Here is a chart of my passive dividend income progress over the last 5 years.

The dividend portfolio has been updated.

Here are the dividend stock purchases I’ve made between July 2020 and 2021 that have added to this dividend income growth.

July’s dividend income covers food and utilities!

July Dividend Growth (Dividend Increases)

Here are the realized dividend increases I earned this July.  Dividend growth is typically fun to report (unless its a month like September 2020).  This month we received a great increase in dividend growth especially compared to last July!

This July I received 8 dividend increases! Three of the dividend increases were over 10%!

Dividend Increases - July 2021

July’s dividend increase adds a good $32.42 in annual dividend income. These 8 dividend increases are the equivalent of investing an extra $926.29 of new money at 3.5% yield!

Net Worth

Net worth continues it’s trend upwards!

Let’s do the numbers…

Cash

The cash account ticked-up a little this month. I am continuing to add extra money into my taxable brokerage account whenever possible.  So far, we have liquidated some high ticket stuff laying around and canceled some trips that has turned into a good amount of cash.  On the spending side, we also have some more pricey home improvement purchases for which we are saving.

Real Estate

We had some home improvement success to report this month.  Sadly, it wasn’t DIY, but in this case, I don’t mind paying for these types of results.  We ended up adding window film to the front of our house.  While I don’t have hard data, it’s made a pretty big difference in feel with regards to temperatures.  I’ll finish a review about the Llumar Vista window film once we have a full month of electricity data to report… looks like it’s going to be decent.

For July, our electricity bill was $219 and our gas bill was $37.  The electricity bill is down about a dollar a day and our gas bill is cheaper now that we were moved to a new gas provider! That is about $10 more than last month for a total of $256.  Hopefully with a full month of window film we will show some impressive results!

Our rental is doing great and we received our rent check on time and zero service calls!

Wrap-up

July is a doldrum kind-of a month.  It’s hot and dividend income and dividend growth are pretty lackluster.  However, when comparing July 2021 to July 2020, there are LOTS of positives.  While it’s still hot, dividend growth is moving in the right direction and dividend income is increasing!

While July is never going to be a stellar month when comparing it to March, June, September or December – we can find good wins by making accurate comparisons.  This really goes to highlight the importance of keeping your historic dividend data… it goes a long way to keep you in the right state of mind… if only it could make the weather cooler!  Keep investing!

I'm a dividend growth investor who is aiming to retire early in 4 years at the age of 45. My goal is to live off the income my dividend portfolio and rental property produce exclusively and leave the corporate rat race. I hope you will join me in this journey!

Thanks JC! Hopefully, that 16% gain can be maintained for the next few years. Then it will just be 4 more years to surpass 2k in July!

  2. Heck yeah Pig. Fantastic job. Can’t believe you received over $1,300 in July. Those are some inspiring numbers for me. Keep it up and keep on pushing.

Thanks Doug! I’m with you on the bacon… I eat it as often as I can… perhaps tonight 😉
